TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING

Deccan Herald-Healing Hands Initiative (hereinafter referred to as the “Initiative”)

Organized and Managed by The Printers (Mysore) Private Limited (hereinafter referred to as TPML)

Nomination to the Initiative:

  • Nominations will be open for only 5 categories, namely:

a. Shining Star (Individual)

b. Leading Light (Individual)

c. Shining Star (Institutional)

d. Leading Light (Institutional)

e. Centre of Excellence (Corporate)

Nominations to three categories viz. Covid Warrior (Posthumous), Covid Warrior and Lifetime Achievement Award, shall be made only by the jury and the jury will decide the awardees.

  • Nomination forms are available for download on this microsite and available at the front desk of the Deccan Herald office at No.75, M G Road, Bengaluru.


Duration of the Initiative:

The nominations for the initiative will open on 25th February 2021 and close on 14th March 2021.

Eligibility to nominate or be nominated:

  • Any healthcare professional practicing in Karnataka or healthcare institution operating in Karnataka, fulfilling the following criteria can nominate or be nominated:

a. Shining Star (Individual and Institutional) – up to 15 years of experience

b. Leading Light (Individual and Institutional) - above 15 years of experience

c. Centre of Excellence (Corporate)

  • Eligibility requirements include a valid address, contact number and e-mail id.

Fees:

  • The nomination fees for nominations under various categories are as follows:

a. Institution plus five individual healthcare professionals – Rs. 1 lakh

b. Institution plus three individual healthcare professionals – Rs. 75,000

c. Institution and one healthcare professional – Rs. 40,000

d. Institution – Rs. 30,000

e. Individual healthcare professional – Rs. 10,000

Please note, the fees mentioned above are exclusive of GST. GST will be charged separately at the time of payment of fees.

  • Nominations to this initiative are purely voluntary.

  • Relatives of the employees of TPML and organizations involved in the conduct of the Initiative will not be eligible to be nominated.


General Terms and Conditions for DH Healing Hands:

  • A jury consisting of senior doctors will decide the awardees from the nominees received under this initiative. The decision of the jury shall be final and binding on all nominees.

  • The awardees in each category shall be announced at the DH-Healing Hands event to be held on 27th March 2021 at Hotel Radisson Blu, Bengaluru.

  • This initiative will be governed by these standard terms and conditions. Each nominee agrees that he/she has read and understood these terms and by their participation in the initiative, each nominee agrees to be bound by these terms. Mere nomination should not be perceived as any commitment on the part of TPML/jury to select the nominee as the winner. Nothing herein amounts to a commitment by TPML to conduct further, similar, or other such initiatives in future.

  • Incomplete information provided or failure to provide true and accurate information as stated in these terms and conditions, failure to submit proof of registration/license will automatically disqualify the nominee. TPML shall have the absolute and sole discretion to determine whether any nominee should be disqualified by reason of failure to abide by these terms and conditions, bad faith, fraud, or any other legitimate reason.

  • Multiple nominations of the same person/institution for the initiative shall not be entertained.

  • TPML shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever for any claims, losses, damage, costs or expenses in connection with or arising from this initiative.

  • To the extent only permitted by applicable law, TPML reserves the right to use the winner’s image, photograph, name and likeness in post-promotion publicity material and in advertising, marketing or promotional material in any media by any means for any purpose connected with the products/services of TPML without additional compensation or prior notice to the winner and all nominees consent to the same.

  • In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any advertising, promotional, publicity and other materials relating to or in connection with this promotion, these terms and conditions shall prevail.

  • TPML reserves the right to request proof of a nominee’s eligibility in the event there is a doubt over their eligibility for the initiative.

  • Subject to applicable laws, TPML shall not be liable for any losses, taxes, liabilities, or inconvenience suffered by any nominee as a result of these terms and conditions or entering this initiative.

  • TPML accepts no responsibility for difficulties experienced in submitting an entry to this initiative. TPML does not accept responsibility for (1) lost, late or undelivered entries or (2) any technical or access issue, failure, malfunction or difficulty that might hinder the ability of a person/institution to be nominated for the initiative or (3) any event which may cause the initiative to be disrupted or corrupted.

  • In addition to these terms & conditions, other specific terms may be imposed by TPML from time to time to deal with any unforeseen situation. TPML also reserves the absolute right to change the terms and conditions contained herein and, or, any other rules and regulations in respect of the initiative at any time without any notice, without assigning any reason and without any liability whatsoever. Nominees are requested to refer to such other terms and conditions, if any, which may be intimated separately as TPML considers fit. However, no obligation is cast on TPML to separately intimate each individual nominee regarding such additional terms and conditions.

  • TPML may (i) extend (ii) terminate or suspend (iii) reduce the term of the initiative at any time due to circumstances beyond its control.

  • Each nominee understands that each of the officials of TPML engaged in the organization and management of this initiative including its directors, officers, partners, employees, consultants, and agents are under no obligation to render any advice or service to any nominee in respect of this Initiative.

  • The nominee undertakes to indemnify and keep TPML harmless and indemnified against any loss, damage, claims, costs, and expenses which may be incurred or suffered by TPML due to breach of any of the terms and conditions herein contained.

  • Any disputes, differences, and/or any other matters in relation to and arising out of this Promotion and / or pertaining to these terms and conditions shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996. The venue of arbitration shall be Bengaluru City. The initiative shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws in India and will be subject to exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru City alone. The Rules of Indian Council of Arbitration(“Rules”) shall apply to the arbitration proceedings and the arbitration shall be conducted by a sole arbitrator to be appointed as per the Rules.

  • Each nominee must ensure that their participation in the initiative is valid as per these terms and conditions and in accordance with the laws of India. Neither TPML nor its representatives or agents shall be taken to make any representations, express or implied, as to the lawfulness of any nominee's nomination in the initiative.

  • Nominees are deemed to accept these terms and conditions by being nominated for this initiative.

  • Each nominee consents to the use of information supplied by the person nominating them in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the nominee, by TPML.

  • The decision of TPML will be final and binding.
